K. C. Shashidhar

With a first class Masters degree in Economics from the University of Bombay, Shri K C Shashidhar started his professional career as a Lecturer at the University of Bombay.After a brief period in teaching, he qualified for the highly competitive Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Services and joined RBI and held the post of the Foreign Exchange Control Officer.During this stint, he was instrumental in various policy and operational aspects especially those relating to Foreign Currency Loans.

Shri Shashidhar then took up a position as a Development Banker in the newly set-up RBI subsidiary,viz.the National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD), which is the apex development bank of our country.He has worked in various States of our country, heading the operations of NABARD, rising to the top management position of the Chief General Manager.

He has rich experience and expertise of about 35 years in the field of banking and finance, especially relating to banking policy formulation, project appraisal , emerging businesses and emerging sectors of the economy, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, Management of NGOs, Management of Innovations etc. He has also served as a Director on the Board of banks and has served on various Committees of the Government. He is the recipient of the Rotary Award for Professional Excellence.

Shri Shashidhar is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad from where he did a research study on Information Economics. He also completed a course on Knowledge Management at IIM, Ahmedabad.Shri Shashidhar has also completed a course on Small and Micro Enterprises at the Cranfield School of Management, U.K.

At MDI, Gurgaon, Shri Shashidhar completed a course on the dynamics of Leadership which took him to various foreign Universities in Germany, France and Austria. He has also attended a course in Risk Management at Brussels in Belgium.He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

Shri Shashidhar has widely travelled to many foreign countries including the USA, UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France etc and regularly delivers lectures both in India and abroad on contemporary topics relating to banking and finance and other related topics. He has held the position of the Chairman of the CIO Club of the Computer Society of India, Mumbai and also as the Secretary of the Computer Society of India, Mumbai.

He is a Visiting Faculty at various educational institutions both in India and abroad, where he regularly lectures on topics relating to banking and finance, Economics and Management, including the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies where he is a member of the Board of Studies at the. He is also a Mentor for select students at the Jankidevi Bajaj Institute.

Shri Shashidhar serves on the Board of SearchLight and believes in the concept of Inclusive Employment. At SearchLight he is mentoring the leadership team to reach higher levels . His objective view of the recruitment landscape combined with variety of sectorial knowledge helps the leadership team to leverage his experience and provide value ads to their clients.
